We are a movement built on belonging: supporting immigrant rights, dignity, and social justice in every community we call home.
Our Mission
The Mosaic Communities Project supports legal representation for immigrants, alleviating the financial barriers to asylum, lawful status, and protection from removal, so that individuals and families can pursue their cases with dignity and stay together in the communities they call home.
Our Vision
We envision communities where no one is separated from their family, their home, or their future for lack of legal representation, where immigration status never determines access to justice, and every community remains whole.

The Mosaic Communities Project stands with immigrants and their families in Virginia as they build new lives with safety and dignity. We fund legal advocacy, provide community support, and amplify a united voice supporting the dignity of every member of our community.

Tamala Longaberger
Board Member
Tami has extensive U.S. business and political experience. Formerly the Chief Executive of a privately-held family company, she also has experience in venture capital and national security. She was a U.S. delegate to the Human Rights Commission, Chair of the National Women’s Business Council appointed by George W Bush, and served as Vice-President of the Financial Advisory Committee of the U.S. Treasury.
Jeremy Preiss
Board Member
Jeremy, an attorney for more than 35 years, has extensive experience in law, public policy, regulation, and compliance and held leadership positions in the private and public sectors. Until recently, his community work since moving to northern Virginia in the 1990’s focused on coaching, tutoring, and fundraising. His current priority is doing what he can to address the needs of our immigrant neighbors, including ensuring they know they are not alone in facing today’s challenges.
Brian Marroquin
Board Member
Brian has served immigrant communities in the Arlington, Virginia, region for more than a decade, leading financial stewardship initiatives that ensure resources reach families who need them most.
Tamara Preiss
BOARD MEMBER
Tamara is an Arlington, VA, native but also spent time abroad as a foreign service brat. She has more than 30 years’ public and private sector experience as a telecom attorney. Recently, she has built on her many years of volunteer work for community organizations and political campaigns to take a lead role in addressing the critical need for resources to help members of our immigrant community.
David Novy
Board Member & Founder
David is an US armed forces veteran with more than 28 years of active duty service in 24 countries around the world. He now works in the private sector as a business consultant and licensed civil engineer. His perspective gained though immigrant rights advocacy has shaped the foundation of the Mosaic Communities Project since its inception.

We believe effective governance is rooted in integrity, accountability, equity, and collaboration. As board members, we are committed to advancing the mission of the Mosaic Communities Project by serving with transparency, compassion, and a steadfast dedication to the communities we support.
Our board members donate their time to ensure donor contributions to the Mosaic Communities Project benefit the maximum number of community members.
